Damn The Consequences And Break Fashion Rules With Athleisure

If you think the athleisure trend is going away sometime soon, then think again. We don't know if the continuously growing popularity of athleisure means the end of regular casual wear as we know it, what we do know is that athleisure will be sticking around for a long time. Think about it; it's the perfect combination of casual and active wear - comfort, style and function all rolled into one so, we are not in the least bit surprised that more and more people are jumping on the athleisure band wagon.

Bigger, Louder, More Teeth...

I finally got to see Jurassic World yesterday and that's where I got this post title. (Yeah, yeah, I'm late to the party. Get over it) Apparently, no one is impressed by the regular Dinosaurs anymore. They are now looked upon like Elephants in the city zoo. So, to stay relevant and keep their business afloat, the creators of the Dinosaurs needed to create one bigger and louder, with more teeth...

...leading to the birth of a monstrous blend of a raptor, frogs, mosquitoes and whatever else they used in completing the DNA - the Indominus Rex that fed on his own sibling. Yeeesh! Am I the only one who sees the similarity of this description with Men of this generation? Oh yes, and Women! And did you see what happened with that bigger, louder chameleon of a monster? Beware people! Don't get bigger, don't get louder and my my, whatever you do, do not - I repeat - DO NOT grow teeth over the number allowed by law nature. LOL! While we are at it, let's also stop being chameleons and feeding on each other... I guess that's why we are becoming more and more obese (Don't even get me started on the teeth). Okay I kid, I kid. I'll get serious.

We really are getting bigger, louder and yes we feed on each other but, I'm more concerned about the bigger part. Are you getting bigger? What are you doing about it? You can't just stop at saying it or thinking it, you have to do it. Just do it! I tell you, being fit is the new sexy! Forget all the excuses of not having any fitness equipment or a gym membership. You can work out at home without any equipment. Click here to review the 7 day home fitness challenge we did sometime back and make the decision now to be fit. We'll be having another fitness challenge soon. Get ready!!!

On that note, get up right now and do 100 jumping jacks and 30 squats. You got this! Put some music on and just go for it! I'm doing mine right away.

Don't forget to drink lots of water!

Happy Sunday!

I had a really long day today and I'm sooooo exhausted. This post is basically my attempt to stick to my routine of posting everyday... because I know you're addicted to this blog. LOL! Mini-wave in celebration of me... woohooo!

Aside the usual Sunday activities, I visited a family who just welcomed a new baby and then went sightseeing at South Bank - a cultural, educational and recreational precinct in Brisbane, Australia. Real lovely place. Unfortunately, I didn't get to take pictures because my phone ran out of battery life *sad much* I'll definitely be visiting again.

Had a Kebab and an Ice-cream for lunch/dinner, yay! (I really have to start eating healthy again and working out more now, to burn off all the spoilers I've been devouring. Yeeesh!) The girl who served the Ice-cream was real nice and even gave me gifties - two New Zealand Natural lip balms. Can't wait to try them. Already noticed that they smell really great - the brown one smells chocolatey and the green one smells minty. Yum!

Alrighty, I gotta go to bed. Got a big day tomorrow. Australia loves Tess! Thank you, Nigeria! Good night!

Best Straight-Outta-Naija Songs For A Great Work-Out

Image result for girl glasses cartoons

Last week, I'd gone to the eye clinic to pick out frames for my new single-vision anti-glare glasses. If you're not familiar with that, it just means I have perfect eyesight but require eye protection especially for when looking at a lit screen - TV, Computer, Phone etc. Ha ha

Anyway, yesterday the Glasses were ready and I set out to go pick them up - on foot. Remember how you're supposed to walk as much as you can? Click here if you missed it. So I donned my earphones, plugged into my phone, hit my music player and stepped. If you're familiar with Ikoyi, my office is just off Bourdillon and I had to go all the way to the end of Awolowo road‎ to get to Metro Eyes Clinic on Keffi street. Quite a distance...but with the music(one earpiece in and one out 'cos of the busy road) I barely noticed and that's how I got 75 minutes of walk-time to and fro. Yay!

If I can do it, so can you. The secret is in the music. Here's a selection of some of my favourite fast-paced, upbeat, straight-outta-Naija songs - in no particular order. You can use gym equipment, walk, jog, run or dance to them. They are not the most current or popular songs but they keep you going which is really what we are after, right?
